Glimmer and glow like a goddess for holiday party season!
Posted on November 4, 2019 Written by: 100% PURE ®What does gold stand for? Glamor, opulence, luxury, and dazzle – and we’re ALL about bringing these adjectives into our beauty look! Twinkling holiday lights, shining bulbs on the tree, the jewelry we fantasize about unboxing in the morning… there are so many sparkly moments to be inspired by during the holidays!
One of the ways we’re channeling gold this holiday season is with gold makeup. We’re not talking about overdone looks that appear costume-y or unflattering. We’re creating elegant, lustrous gold touches that glitter and glow on your skin.
Here’s how to achieve an effortless and sophisticated holiday gold makeup glow in just six steps!
On the daily, we might skip this step; but when we’re planning a dressier look for a holiday date or party, we think it’s important to lay down a secure base. Since we’re all about 9-carat luminosity with this gold makeup look, use your finger or a dry sponge to prime with the All Over Glow.
Why we love this:
First, this liquid bronzer is super gentle on the skin: a crucial element for the thin, sensitive eye area. There are also anti-aging components to the ingredients, including antioxidants from pomegranate oil and brightening coffee cherry. The bronze-gold hue of this product melts into the skin, and helps light up following eye shadows even more.
Next, we want to smoke out a subtle gold shimmer all over our mobile lid; use a tool for this (not your finger) to pat the pigment into place. To keep it simple, you can apply the eye shadow all over your lid with one brush: our E20 Smudger.
For this look, we’re using the award-winning Fruit Pigmented® Eye Shadow in the aptly named shade, Gilded. This is a warm, true gold with buildable color and halo-like shimmer. Apply enough shadow that your eyelid is no longer visible underneath, but that the shadow gradually fades out upward towards your eyebrows.
Why we love this:
With natural ingredients like red wine resveratrol and avocado butter, we feel safe and excited to apply these shadows onto our eyes. Some of the ingredients found in competitors’ eyeshadows like talc or even formaldehyde are very risky and can really damage the delicate eye skin. This baby is packed and pigmented with fruits, soothing rose and vanilla, and rice starch for alleviating irritated skin.
Want beauty that’ll last all day or night? We found true love in an eyeliner – and surprise, it isn’t black! Add a wing using the Dark Chocolate Liquid Eye Liner to your lash line to deepen this gold makeup look. You can make your wing as thick or as thin as you want, but make sure to apply right up to the lash line. This will make your lashes look thick and lustrous, and will give you a doe-eyed, sparkly look.
Why we love this:
What’s the biggest complaint you have about liquid liner formulas? They aren’t pigmented enough? They smudge and give you raccoon eyes? Perhaps they dry out, flake off, or just don’t last?
Two words: THIS. LINER. The formula offers an inky color intensity, thanks to the color depth of micronized black tea leaves and real cocoa powder. With a host of herbs in the formula, such as rosemary and thyme, you’ll notice how soothing and smooth this formula feels on the skin.
What’s a holiday look without a champagne toast? In this gold makeup look, we’re mixing classic champagne gold with sparkling rosé for a pinky, first-blush wash of gold in our Rose Gold Gemmed Luminizer.
Give your cheeks a glisten with two parts gold, one part rose, and full parts gorgeous. Using a beauty sponge or angled brush, apply to the apples and high points of the cheeks, and the cupid’s bow above your lips.
Why we love this:
Come one come all, including combination and oily skin types! Don’t be worried about looking greasy or oily in this luminizer. The silky rice powder finish glides onto the skin for a natural glow that’s more radiant than reflective. True mineral shimmers like labradorite and opal star in this luminizer – don’t forget to charge your crystals, ladies!
Next, we want to smoke out a subtle gold shimmer all over the mobile lid. Use a tool for this (and not your finger). To keep it simple, you can apply the eyeshadow all over your lid with one brush – our E20 Smudger.
For this look, we’re using the Fruit Pigmented Eye Shadow in the aptly named shade, Gilded. This is a warm, champagne gold with buildable color and a halo-like shine. Apply enough shadow that your eyelid is no longer visible underneath, but gradually fade out the pigment near your eyebrows.
Why we love this:
With natural ingredients like red wine resveratrol and avocado butter, we feel confident applying these shadows onto our eyes. Some of the ingredients found in competitors’ eye shadows include talc or formaldehyde, and are toxic to the delicate eye skin. This baby is packed and pigmented with superfruits, soothing lavender, and rosehip for deeply nourishing youthful and mature skin alike.
A deep, burnt caramel shade is the perfect subtle compliment to shades of gold makeup. Swipe on the nourishing Cocoa Butter Matte Lipstick in shade Cacti, to add a chocolate-gold warmth to your complexion. This lippie glides on with instant, mega color payoff, and softens the lips while you wear for a mistletoe-ready kiss.
On the other hand, what pairs better with a smoldering gold eye than a bold, seductive red lip? Opt in for the drama with our Cocoa Butter Matte Lipstick in Blood Orange. You’ll get the same color payoff, with a bit more pop.
Not a lipstick girl, or looking for a more casual version of this look? Grab the gloss in shade Naked for creamy, sheer nude wash of color that lets the eyes glow like stars, in this holiday festival of lights!
