3 Minute Beach-Inspired Hair How-To

If there’s any season you can get away with a more laid back makeup and hair routine, it’s definitely summertime. Let’s use all those laissez-faire vibes in the air to our full advantage, right? No matter what beach babe look you’re channeling these days, there is always a summer hair standby for every hair type; BRAIDS. Whether you opt for a fancy fishtail brand or a more loose milk maiden braid, you’re bound to get tons of compliments for a how-to lesson that took a few minutes to learn but scores major style points on the beach (or even at the office).

STEP ONE:
Starting with day old hair, or hair after a long day at the beach is best. Use our Pro-Vitamin B5 Smoothing Hair Serum to smooth out any flyaways and frizz. Hair can be slightly damp, if necessary. Give hair a quick brush, then ruffle your roots with fingertips for extra volume.
STEP TWO:
Make a straight side part on the top of your head, slightly off center. Start by grabbing a small section of hair at the crown.
STEP THREE:
Grab another section of hair and cross over the original hair section.
STEP FOUR:
Continue this criss-cross method, continually grabbing more hair from underneath as you build your twist braid.
STEP FIVE:
When you reach the point below your chin, incorporate the remaining hair into the two sections, evenly.
STEP SIX:
Twisting each section counterclockwise, then twist each section around each other.
STEP SEVEN:
Finish the braid twist with a hair tie. The natural twisting will slightly unravel when you let go for a loose, laid-back beach-babe vibe.
